"We met Tom when our German Shepherd dog, Bella, was about one. We'd done basic training with her as well as puppy classes and a trainer. The puppy classes were chaos - Bella was the biggest dog and, as an intelligent breed, learnt quickly then wanted to play. The trainer foccussed on treats and we didn't get beyond very basic training. We knew we needed to train Bella and needed help from someone who really understood a larger and more powerful dog. ​

Tom came to the house for an initial assessment to meet us and Bella. He explained his teaching methods which involved training us as owners as well as the dog. We'd been approaching differently and Tom showed us ways of training we'd not seen before, which allowed us to both work well with the dog and get the same results consistently. 

Bella has loved the training (and been shattered afterwards as she's been mentally challenged.) We've been able to work on techniques ourselves between visits and Tom has been avaliable for any queries in the meantime.

The sessions have been varied between home (staying in 'place', door reactivity, perimeter work etc) and outside work (reactivity to other dogs, pulling on lead, recall etc.)​

We've been delighted to find Tom and see improvements in Bella - she's still a lively young dog with a huge personality, and now it is much easier to take her out. She likes the training too. Even if sometimes she pretends to go to sleep at the end of a session!"

Flossie was unaccustomed to walking on a lead & lacking social etiquette with other dogs which made our leisure time together quite stressful for both of us.​

After assessing Floss, Tom provided expert advice to help us communicate effectively & understand each other. After just a short period of time, she is now walking properly on a lead (no pulling or criss-crossing) & whilst eager to greet other dogs, she no longer barks uncontrollably (appearing aggressive). She understands coming to heel quickly to allow people to pass by & will sit on command.​
